We do this by merging classic and contemporary elements to balance character with freshness, always prioritising quality and functionality. Longevity is intentionally achieved through an elegantly versatile base that can be personalised and adapted over time with furnishings and decor - a much more manageable approach than doing building works every few years to replace outdated fads!

Hi, I’m Rowena. I love timeless, character-filled design that feels luxurious, fresh and calm.
While renovating a derelict farmhouse into a contemporary country home, we discovered how overwhelming design decisions can be. People loved our design aesthetic and asked us to share the details. I realised many homeowners don’t have time to curate designs and research options for each element.
That led me to create Hinterland Home Design Studio — curated, pre-selected designs that bring our contemporary charm aesthetic to your home without the need for a bespoke process.
Fast forward a few years and we’ve sold our beloved country home, started a new project interstate, and have more plans ahead. I’m excited to share fresh designs that help you build beautiful, livable spaces and hope you love them too!
